What is Heaven?

Many people from all different types of religions believe in some sort of heaven. Unfortunately, those people are wrong or mislead. I hope I can clear this up for you.

Heaven is a place made for Christians by Christ, it's known as the Everlasting Kingdom of God. There are some descriptions of Heaven, mostly of the size and what it's made up of; but in 1st Corinthians 2:9 it's stated, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heard of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

Based on that verse and the verses I'm going to talk about next we find that Heaven is going to be a very large and unimaginably beautiful place.

In the book of Revelation, after the Tribulation when Satan and the unsaved are cast into Hell a new Earth is created and the Everlasting Kingdom is brought down to the new Earth; New Jerusalem. The city will have 12 gates, each named after the 12 Tribes of the Old Testament, and have twelve levels, each level named after the 12 Apostles of Christ. The actual measurements are symbolic, 1400 miles by 1400 miles by 1400 miles that forms a perfect cube, meaning that the size was built exactly the right size. The walls are made up of the Earth's finest gems and precious metals, jasper, gold, sapphire, chalcedony, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolyte, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus, jacinth and amethyst. The gates are made up of pearls and the roads are made of transparent gold, there is no need for a sun as God will be dwelling in the city and His radiance provides the light. The river of Life flows out of the Throne of God and the Tree of Life near the river.

This is just a brief overview of Heaven, if you want to read more about Heaven, Revelation 21 and 22 have a more detailed explanation of Heaven, there are many other parts of the Bible that talk about Heaven as well. This website also has some verses on Heaven.

I would like to emphasize that Heaven is obviously important, but what is more important is that you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and how you live for Him.

Random Scripture

Phil 2:9-11: Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
