Campus Crusade for Christ Cookout

Apr 29

Last night CCC had a cookout and recognition for the seniors. We had the typical food that an American cookout would consist of, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, fruits and vegetables, soda, etc. After eating, we played softball for a few hours. I quickly found out that my left should that I had previously dislocated 4 years ago had not completely healed. I cranked the softball in center outfield and my shoulder came out a little bit. I also took a graceful tumble to second base- I do not recommend running in Crocs in sand.

After the cookout some of the guys invited me to their “Halo House” to have a LAN party. There were around 20 people there, 16 playing Halo 2 on 4 TVs. We played until about 1 O’clock, I had a very good time. This was my first LAN party and I can see why they are so fun.

Here are a few photos I took at yesterday’s cookout. One | Two

Crocs

Apr 22

Today was a beautiful day; it was in the 60’s with a very light breeze. I can tell that summer is almost here from watching mosquitoes mating in the sunset. I grilled some chicken tonight for supper. If you want enjoy grilling and like spicy food, try this: marinate chicken in a mixture of jalapenos and green pepper sauce for a few hours, slice a few slits into the check breast and add a few slivers of jalapenos. Cover one side of the chicken in pepper and some seasoning salt, grill, add cheese and top it off with A-1 steak sauce.

I purchased a pair of Beach Crocs today. They are incredibly comfortable, my favorite part is that they have holes on the top to ventilate my feat as they get very warm. I can wear them anywhere I go, except for when I drive an ATV or hike due to the material. The material is something I have not heard of, Croslite PCCR. Whatever it is, it’s very light and comfortable.

I went grocery shopping today and the store had Corn for sale, I purchased a few ears. Corn on the cob is one of my favorite summer foods. During the Summer I usually have my refrigerator stocked full with vegetables and fruit as you can see.

I wish I were a mechanic

Apr 19

April is the month that I have to register my car and have it inspected by the State. Maine is one of the highest taxing States when it comes to registering your vehicle. I will probably end up spending $200 this year, plus another $10 for inspection. I just got back from the auto shop to have the transmission oil & filter changed, fuel filter changed and found out that I need the left front caliper replaced; in total this will cost me $600 this month. If I were a mechanic, I could do all of this for much cheaper.

I met my Dad at the Emergency Room at the hospital last night, apparently his van that is provided to him by his employer caught fire and while putting it out some plastic fell on his hands and burnt them. We waited roughly 6 hours until he could be seen. His hands are fine, but are covered in blisters.

Happy Easter

Apr 16

I hope that everyone’s Easter went well. My Easter Sunday went well. I arrived extra early to church - knowing that it would be a more than full service since people flock to church on Easter - and found I was still too late. I sat up in the balcony for the service. It’s good to see new people at church; I always hope that they will be lead to Christ. Any day is a good day to come to Christ, but on Easter it’s even better because people who are not saved get to hear - possibly for the first time - that Jesus died for sins, to become our propitiation and rose from the grave 3 days later, triumphing over death.

After church I was invited to dinner with my grandparents at my aunt and uncle’s house in Ripley. We had a good time there. I visited with Dad after we finished dinner.

I received a package in the mail from Mom yesterday. Here’s a photo. I was surprised to get this, and have already started to eat my way to the bottom of the egg. Thank you Mom!
