Christmas vs. Seasons Greetings

Dec 01

Today is the first day of the Christmas Season… Yes, that’s right, I said it, Christmas. It seems as though this word is starting to become extinct and illegal in certain areas in the US. First, 10 years ago it was X-mas, than and than it became Happy Holidays, than Seasons Greetings and now Winter Festivities. Many stores do not mention Christmas. When I see a store that does, I always send them a letter / email saying thank you.

I watched the O’Riely Factor on Fox News and was happy to see that a lot of people are upset that cities and retail chains are trying to change the name of the Christmas Tree. A few towns and stores were mentioned how they are going to stick with the Christmas Tree this year. I have to applaud Macey’s for their new Christmas commercial, even though it does have to with Santa Clause, they still do mention the word Christmas.

Why is it the Christian holidays are always under attack? Is reading or saying to work Christmas really that offensive to people, just because the name of Christ is in it? Here’s my view, the politically correct people are the people who are feeling convicted are the ones who are anti-Christian. The reason why I say this is because while working on someone’s computer the other day I overheard a conversation of two men that are not Christians discussing the Christmas Tree vs. Holiday Tree and they disgusted with renaming of the Christmas Tree and how it is not fair that the Holiday is under attach but other holidays, such as Jewish holidays are not.

I’ll end this entry with this, whether you are a Christian or not, if you are unhappy with the renaming of Christmas, do not give into the secularization of this day. I know I won’t.
