Easter Sunday

Mar 27

It’s Easter Sunday, the day that my Savior rose from the dead and Ascended to Heaven. I hope everyone is having a good Easter. So far, mine as gone well. I invited my neighbor to Church since she expressed an interest last week. She enjoyed Church and the pastor as Stan is very easy to relate to. After Church we went to Sunday school and I learned a lot as I usually do. I’m glad that God presented an opportunity for me to whiteness to someone, I’m excited to see what His plan will entail. It’s good to have a friend that is your age and could possibly have the same interests as you.

My mom and Jack are coming over tonight, I’m glad they are. I miss my mom… They are moving to Virginia in a month… I didn’t get to see my Dad today either.

I’m thinking about purchasing a Digital camera, a Konica Minolta Dimage Z3. I love hiking and looking at God’s creation. If I buy one, then I plan on taking a photography class to catch up on all of the lingo and what not.

Getting settled in

Mar 12

I think I have just about everything settled in my apartment now, after almost two weeks. My mother came over today to help put up some new curtains we bought for the living room windows and bedroom windows. I must say they look good with the blinds. We also found a nice “Bed in a Bag” for my new Serta queen bed. It’s masculine, it is a greenish color with leaves on it, sort of an outdoors feel to it. I really like my new bed, it’s tall, firm and fits me much better- well worth the $850.

I need to look through my Malibu book to see when I need to flush the coolant and get the belts checked… I just had to have my front breaks and rotors replaced for $265. I went to the Stealership because the brakes had a one time warranty on them. I have around 72k miles on my car, it’s a 2002. Now that I’m living in Bangor and work one mile away, I won’t put as much miles on.

Here are some photos of my apartment. The love seat and chair is much darker than they appear.

Moving time

Mar 01

Well, today is moving day and it’s storming; it’s a blizzard to be more detailed, high winds, lots of snow, etc. I have taken this week off from work, so I need to get moving. I rented a small trailer from U-Haul. My dad, mom and her husband helped me load all of my things into the trailer that day. which took about an hour as I had most of my things packed into boxes already. After getting most of my things packed, I had to reconfigure my mothers computer (remove it from the domain, hook it directly to the DSL modem, make sure everything was firewalled).

After making sure I had all the things we could take with us, I got in my car and Jack and Mom got into their truck and headed off to Bangor. The roads were slushy and icey in some parts so I had to go a little slower on the interstate, around 60MPH. I called Jess from Tennessee and talked to her for most of the drive to Bangor. About an hour and ten minutes later, I arrived to my new apartment. I called Rich and Tim, two co-workers to let them know I was there so they could come over and help me move my things in. My dad had to go to work so he could not make it over to help. While I was waiting for mom, Jack and my co-workers the Adelphia tech came to install my cable TV and internet.

Another 20 minutes passed and everyone arrived… time to move my stuff up to the second floor. The heaviest and most difficult thing to move was my 32″ HDTV… it’s around 300LBS, it took myself, Rich and Tim to move it very slowly up the stairs. About 30 minutes later, everything was in. After awhile, everyone left and I started unpacking and putting things away. My box spring broke at the house so we left it, I laid my mattress on the floor and slept on it. I need to get a new bed set.
